The purpose of this page is to increase the knowledege to endoscopic and laparoscopic ultrasound and to be a place for communication between persons and institution who are interested in these subjects.
This hompage is edited by a group of scientific oriented doctors with special interest in Sugical Ultrasound.
Jesper Durup, MD, PhD is an expert in surgical ultrasonography and have special interest in laparoscopic ultrasound. He has written a thesis about laparoscopic ultrasound in staging of upper GI cancer. He is now consultant surgeon and assistant professor at the department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Odense University Hospital Denmark and is WebMaster on endosonography.dk.
Jesper Durup
Michael Bau Mortensen MD PhD, is one of the pioneers of endoscopic ultrasound, and foundated the European Endosonography Club. In 1997 he wrote a thesis on staging of upper GI cancer with Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). He is now consultant surgeon and assistant professor at the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology Odense University Hospital Denmark.

Claus Hovendal MD Dr. Med. is professor and senior consultant at the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology.Odense University Hospital, Denmark. He have a long scientific background in surgical gastroenterology and is a pioneer in surgical ultrasound. He have initiated severel scientific studies concerning endoscopic and laparoscopic ultrasound, and have presented a new minimal invasive strategy in staging of upper gastrointestinal cancer world-wide.He has rewieved severel thesis and papers concerning EUS and LUS.
Torsten Pless MD. is an expert in surgical ultrasound, and have initiated severel studies concerning EUS and staging of lung cancer. He is traveling world-wide teaching about surgical ultrasound, and is consultant surgeon at the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Odense University Hospital ,Denmark
Allan P Ainsworth MD PhD is senior surgeon at the Department of Surgery at Odense University Hospital. He is expert in endoscopic ultrasound and is using different EUS systems in diagnosing pancreatico biliary diseases. He wrote a thesis concerning use of MRCP and EUS for this purpose

Henning Overgaard Nielsen, MD, Dr.Med is assistant professor and senior consultant at the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology.Odense University Hospital, Denmark. He have a long scientific background in surgical gastroenterology. He is chief of upper surgical gastroenterology and hepatic surgery and assistant professor at the University of Southern Denmark.
Claus Fristrup, MD.PhD is working at the department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Vejle Hospital, Denmark. He is in traning for advanced GI endoscopy and have finihed a thesis in 3D endoscopic and laparoscopic ultrasound.
